Design a Minor Arcana entirely from scratch with guidance or work on a series already started. This image is of the Sola Busca Tarot but there are many, many, many, many, many more which you can explore and be inspired by online. We can take the Rider-Waite Tarot as an initial standard inspiration, as well as the Marseilles and Thoth Tarots. You can use entirely symbols and motifs or personalise them with characters (which is potentially more interesting). People understand the Tarot in different ways. Some use it for divination, fortune telling or cartomancy. Others see it as a game… one of the games of life. This mini-series looks into the history of card decks and traces them to medieval Italy and France and further back to Mamluk cards, Egypt and China. These classes are the culmination of years of study and intrigue with the Tarot. How To Use These Classes: to create your own tarot-inspired paintings; to create your own deck; to create your own paintings you’ve always wanted to do that align with the impulses behind each card, taking each class as an inspiration and springboard from which to create your own body of work; to watch passively so you understand the process of image-making and what goes into the creation of a painting; to be inspired by first watching and then to create…. The Tarot classes can be paired with the upcoming Oracle Cards class as well as the Playing Cards classes.
