A floating island rock, a little tree, and maybe a small house or cottage with a roof. Suits me just fine. Think about little floating islands, real and imaginary, in this little floating islands book and allow me to share my lifelong interest in these, and why everyone should be their own little floating island unto themselves (hint: they have floating roots, and you can make bridges). I used to believe that all islands floated and a floating island is in my logo. I will share more of my own creative process in this more personal class and how to mix the various beautiful blues and greens that will drench and infuse this book. We may also include some small Chinese clouds, but intentional book of clouds is coming up. Think of it as a sneaky Rocks class too! And contemplate rock forms all the more by looking at them from below. A deeper complement to the Isolario class, and includes a bespoke turquoise cover (different shade). Get that classic island feeling, and make a holiday in a book. Class includes a bespoke handmade different turquoise leather envelope-flap cover to paint and free postage to anywhere in the world… except if you live on a remote island like St Helena, of course (might take 2 months to arrive apparently!) If, due to UK postal strikes and various delays, you do not manage to work on your cover in the duration of the class, we will have a spillover session and special ‘book editions’ of the Miniature Monthly Meetings where you’ll get an opportunity to work on your book covers. I will of course be demonstrating during class. PLEASE NOTE that these bespoke book covers are limited editions that come with the classes and once they’re gone, they’re gone. If there is a particular size or colour of cover you like, please contact me for custom-made miniature books if you are interested. Alternatively you can watch out for future classes coming soon, or sign up to the mailing list to be notified of future classes. You’ll end up with your own library of handmade Islamic books!
